Event Tomorrow: Roundtable Discussion on the State Budget

Good morning, Ohio Benefit Bankers!

I apologize for the last-minute nature of this announcement, but it just popped into my inbox this morning. This sounds like a fantastic event, and I encourage everyone to go!

Join Us for Roundtable Discussion in Southeast Ohio!
Hear how decisions being made in Columbus will Affect Your Community

When: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 – 2:30 pm
Where: Athens Community Center, 701 East State Street, Athens, Ohio 45701
Why: The proposed state budget that the House approved relies on deep cuts to education, human services and local governments that threaten Ohio’s ability to create jobs and grow the economy. Community members from Southeastern Ohio will gather to discuss the impacts, and to hear about better alternatives.

This meeting is one in a series across Ohio that One Ohio Now is holding during the legislative session. These meetings provide an opportunity for community members to hear what the legislature’s decisions will mean to them and their communities.

One Ohio Now (www.OneOhioNow.org) is a coalition of 45 member organizations including those involved in health and human services, faith, education, public transportation, and labor. The coalition calls for a balanced approach that includes revenue to meet Ohio’s needs, promote jobs, and maintain the quality of life that Ohioans expect and deserve.

Please RSVP and send any inquiries to Andrea Fejes at andrea@oneohionow.org or 614-221-4570.

Be well,
Jessica
